Department of Education (DepEd) extended the ARAL program to Senior High School in the school year 2026-2027 to properly equip graduating students with foundational literacies and numeracies.

R.A. 12028 or Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) program act initially only included grades 1-10, now facilitates classes to senior high school students.

Along with the implementation of the strengthened senior high school curriculum (SSHS), this program is planned to help improve literacy and numeracy among students.

Since its fulfillment in school year 2026-2027, the program has garnered 134 students in grades eleven and twelve.

In the school year of 2027-2028, DepEd planned to put more into numeracy interventions starting school year 2027-2028 across junior high school and senior high school.

To uphold that, DepEd is estimates the need for 205 classes and 205 external tutors for math to support the program.

Focus is shifting to higher priorities, and through the performance and statistics the school has gathered in the past school years, DepEd is expanding its reach to help students’ performance beyond basic education.
